Perhaps you have worked in a similar capacity before, or ready to step ashore from your seagoing career, whether temporarily or permanent. Either way, we are looking for you which is technically skilled with experience as marine engineer, engineer or maintenance and repair technician, that is searching for a new job opportunity.

How does it work

We are looking sourcing for a person that enjoy the possibility to mix administrative- and hands-on work. Our team comprises a set of great individuals with a range of different skillsets. We work dynamically over the different departments and mix our daily work to supervise and support the fleet performance, coordinate and or perform various service jobs, pick up and deliver items to the vessels, etc. 

More about the role

Together with the shore management team you are to manage the day-to-day operation of our fleet's technical performance, supervise and maintain the fleet maintenance system up-to-date, managing fleet technical defect reporting, perform technical vessel visits, plan and perform dry-docking, coordinate Class and service visits and inspections, participate service jobs on board, manage purchase and service orders and coordinate delivery of parts on board the vessels as well as to run the fleet sustainability programme.

Not only administrative duties

Beside managing the fleet in capacity as Technical Superintendent, together with the other members of the shore management team, you are very active in the hands-on service and maintenance on board our vessels. When needed, immediate repairs and service works are performed on board. Moreover, third party services and Class inspections are coordinated and participated. Needless to say, there is a great variety of tasks performed on a day-to-day basis.

Your profile

You should be passionate about work and enjoy an environment where a lot happens. You form part of a very dynamic shipping company, operating a fleet of bunker tankers with safety and environmental excellence at heart as well as to support the operation of our managed oil terminal and oil pollution response contracts. You should be flexible to work outside normal working hours, when needed.

Things may change without a moment notice and you should not be easily stressed and flexible to redirect your attention. 

Your qualifications and experience

Whilst we prefer applicants with a marine background or a background relating to any of the foregoing mentioned in this ad, we would still welcome any other application as we believe in that passion and willingness to learn new things is equally important to experience.

You would be surrounded by experienced team members that are willing to build new strengths in you. You need to be able to express yourself freely in speech and writing in English and one Scandinavian language and should have at least finished high school level. You need to be skilled in operating various softwares, including the fleet planned maintenance and purchasing system, etc.

Candidates with marine engineer background and or experience of similar (or equivalent roles) in the tanker/chemical segment will be prioritised.

Located in Gothenburg and with roots from Donsö Island, OljOla is an established company within the tanker shipping industry. The company was founded in 1978 and has ever since worked with distribution of bunkers in various forms.

We are operating a highly modern fleet bunker tankers with the mission to become a leading bunker- and terminal operator. Our mindset on operational efficiency, technical innovations as well as safety and sustainability be reflected in our performance. Our fleet of 3 tankers will increase in the nearest future with the addition of a 2100 DWT Oil- and Chemical Tanker.

Since 2020 we have been established in Port of Frederikshavn, Denmark. Through our local branch office, we have supported the supervision of the oil terminal construction process and now enter the final phase to start up the terminal operation. 

Your employment

The position is based in Gothenburg and is full-time as a Technical Superintendent.

We apply six months probationary employment. The employment is covered by insurance and occupational pensions, in accordance with standard practice.
