Vingaren delivered

24.11.2020

It is with great excitement that we can announce that we have taken delivery of VINGAREN from PaxOcean Engineering Ltd. Co., Zhuhai. Vingaren was delivered on November 24th, 2020. The Swedish flag was raised the same day and departed from delivery port the next day.

It has been a long and challenging journey for all involved. It is with much gratitude, modesty and ease that we finally took delivery. The new building delivery crew travelled from Sweden in the end of September and have put a great amount of work in preparing the vessel for her delivery. It is a privilege to have such fine crew working hard day-in and day-out.

The vessel is presently outside Korea awaiting to load next week. On its way to Korea the vessel has passed Mutsure anchorage outside Japan where our Filipino crew safely joined. After loading, Vingaren will continue its maiden voyage towards Europe via Panama for discharge in Colombia.

The 5 560-deadweight ton tanker will, with its unique design and purpose-built features, operate as a bunker vessel in north European waters. The design and selection of features has been made to enhance flexibility, allow safe conditions in high seas bunker operations and to optimise energy efficiency.

Through careful and detailed planning, we can set a new standard for environmental sustainability in our small sector of shipping. Using conventional arrangements in combination with innovative solutions we have been able to reduce the energy output significantly. The hull design together with the selection of propulsion system enables the vessel to move twice the amount cargo on the same energy consumption, compared to other vessels in our fleet and vessels operating on the market.

By adding the selection on diesel-electric propulsion we can optimise the power output and retract the energy necessary only for short voyages, shifting between vessels and when applying just-in-time concept.

We would like to take the opportunity to give thanks to all involved in this project. Special thanks to Stena Oil for their continued trust in our services, Stena Teknik for their new building management and great co-operation and to the completed Stena-Group for their outstanding support.

Moreover, we would also give huge thanks to our outstanding crew across the fleet and our shore organisation. You continue to do an amazing job operating our vessels safely and uninterruptedly. It is a great pleasure to have all of you with us.
